Spring collet reduces long-term wear and increases clamping force
December 02, 2020
The common demand of spring collet for the superior skill of the fixture. Most of the structure of the fixture should select all kinds of standard parts and wide parts as far as possible, and the proportion of making special parts should be as small as possible, so as to reduce the production labor and cost. All kinds of special structures and components of spring chuck should be easy to make and measure, and easy to arrange and debug.
The adjustable structure of the spring chuck is often selected in the form of bolt fastening and pin position. When the fixture is changed and arranged, the length of a part can be easily ground. The length of the layout can be controlled by changing the washer, changing the gasket or adjusting sleeve between the parts and components, so as to compensate the error of other parts and improve the precision of the fixture. Once the layout standard has been processed, its place and length should not be changed. Therefore, these surfaces or lines which need to be changed or repaired in the process of layout can not be used as the layout standard.
In the practice and utilization, the spring chuck should often loosen and replace the workpiece, such as in the turning center. When loosening, it can spray a layer of smooth agent on the inner hole of the spring chuck. If conditions permit, the coolant used is flat and smooth, which can wash the debris on the spring chuck and provide a good flatness and smoothness effect. If the locking angle of the spring chuck is coated with leveling grease on time, the long-term wear can be reduced and the clamping force can be increased. It can also make use of other materials with excellent flatness and smoothness, including good grease or wax base materials with EP (extreme burden) characteristics.
The reasonable selection of the clamping diameter and length level of the spring chuck can ensure that the spring chuck has a large clamping force on the workpiece, and the clamping conditions are finished, and then the machining is guaranteed to be good and high precision. It is assumed that the inner aperture length of the collet is too large, and the workpiece is only clamped by the opening of the collet when the collet is closed.
It is possible that the spring collet produces a geometric mismatch between the workpiece outer circle and the spring collet inner hole, thus reducing the clamping force. Assuming that the length of the inner diameter of the spring chuck is too small, only the inner part of the inner hole of the collet is needed to touch the workpiece when the collet is closed. Even if the clamping force is increased, the condition that the collet is not coaxial with the workpiece will be generated. A kind of level level spring chuck can only locate the workpiece with corresponding diameter and length level.
