Shandong NC tool shank: causes of wear of tungsten steel milling cutter
1. Abrasive wear, the hardness of chip workpiece is lower than that of tungsten steel milling cutter, but they often contain a few tiny hard points with extremely high hardness, which can draw grooves on the surface of tungsten steel milling cutter, which is abrasive wear.
2. Adhesive wear, in the cutting process, when the conflict surface between tungsten steel milling cutter and workpiece material has high temperature, high pressure and fresh surface conditions, and the contact surface reaches the distance between atoms, there will be adsorption link phenomenon, also known as cold welding adhesive wear, which is the tension reason for the wear of cemented carbide tungsten steel milling cutter when it is difficult to process working materials during heavy load and low speed machining (the degree of wear mainly depends on the affinity and hardness between workpiece material and tungsten steel milling cutter material, as well as lubrication conditions than cutting temperature and pressure.
3. Dispersed wear: when the cutting temperature is very high, the chemical elements on both sides of the contact process between the cutting workpiece and the tungsten steel milling cutter are replaced, which makes the material of the tungsten steel milling cutter fragile, thus increasing the wear. Dispersed wear is the main reason for the wear of the cemented carbide tungsten steel milling cutter at 800-1000 degrees.
In short, the wear causes and degree are different under different workpiece materials, tool materials and cutting conditions. The measures to prevent the wear of tungsten steel milling cutter are as follows:
Wear of tungsten steel milling cutter
Influence of cutting speed control on wear
Rational selection of tool materials
Improve tool grinding quality and fully pour cutting fluid
Improve tool strength
Preventive measures for tungsten steel milling cutter
(l) Reasonably select the brand of milling cutter blade: the blade material with high toughness, low sensitivity to thermal crack resistance and good heat resistance and wear resistance shall be used. For example, ys30, YS25 and other brands of blades can be used when milling steel; yd15 and other brands of blades can be used when milling cast iron to prevent milling cutter wear.
(2) Reasonable selection of milling dosage: under certain processing conditions, there is a safe working area without damage. Selecting VC and ∫ Z in the safe working area can ensure the normal operation of the milling cutter and prevent the wear of the milling cutter.
(3) Reasonable selection of the relative position between the workpiece and the milling cutter: reasonable selection of the installation position of the face milling cutter plays an important role in reducing the wear of the face milling cutter.
