Advantages of HSK CNC toolholder
April 19, 2021
HSK CNC tool holder can effectively improve the joint stiffness between tool holder and machine tool spindle. Because of the combination of cone and end over positioning, the effective contact area between the toolholder and the spindle is increased, and the double-sided positioning is carried out from the radial and axial directions, which greatly improves the combination stiffness of the toolholder and the spindle, and overcomes the weakness of the traditional standard toolholder in high-speed rotation.
It has high repeat positioning accuracy and fast automatic tool change, which is conducive to the realization of ATC high speed. Because of the 1:10 taper, the length of the taper is short (about half of the similar specifications of the traditional standard toolholder). After each tool change, the contact area between the tool holder and the spindle is consistent, so the repeated positioning accuracy of the tool holder is improved. Because of the hollow structure, it is light and easy to change the tool automatically.
It has good high speed locking performance. The higher the rotation speed, the greater the centrifugal force of the expanding claw and the greater the locking force. According to the German DIN standard, HSK toolholder adopts balanced design. There are six types of HSK toolholder, including a, B, C, D, e and F. each type has several sizes. A. Type B is automatic tool changing handle, type C and D are manual tool changing handle, and type E and F are keyless connection. They are suitable for ultra-high speed cutting.
Due to the use of double-sided positioning, the toolholder is over positioned in the inner hole of the spindle. In order to realize over positioning, it is required that the taper surface of the toolholder and the end surface of the flange plate have higher shape accuracy and mutual position accuracy, which increases the difficulty of toolholder manufacturing. Therefore, the manufacturing cost of this type of toolholder is higher, and its price is usually 1.5-2 times of that of conventional toolholder.
